Summer Activities
So at our meeting tomorrow we would like to discuss activities we can do this summer. I've heard many ideas from fun activities such as game night to community involvement activities such as adopt-a-stream. My interest is croquet. I would like to see if we could get a monthly croquet game started. We look forward to hearing your ideas tomorrow night.

Looking forward to the next meeting
We are getting excited about our upcoming meeting. We have been recieving emails from interested women in the community. It is good to know this group is needed. We all need friends and a place where we can feel like we belong. We have been contacted by the All About Women's Magazine and will discuss at our next meeting what we would like the story to be on. Currently we are thinking...the reason for starting this group, reasons for additional women to join and our hope for what this group can become. We would love to have additional thoughts and comments from women who were interested in join the LEW, like you. I hope everyone is doing great and we are looking forward to seeing you all on April 16th at 6 pm at Panera Bread and again with weather permitting we will be sitting outside, just look for our flyer.

April 2009 Meeting
Spring is here! To celebrate, the LEW will hold its next meeting outside- on the patio of Panera Bread (located at the Boone Mall) on April 16th at 6pm. If it does happen to rain, we will meet inside. Just look for the League's poster propped on top of a table. We will socialize and discuss what the LEW should do next. LEW (The New Old JCs)
So, we recently learned that our group is really ligit. I mean there is actually more of a need present than we had realized. So, here goes the story...
There used to be a group in town called the JCs, which had both a male and female chapter, the age limit on that group was 18 to 32. Once you reached 32 you would age out and move on to another group. To our understanding this female chapter began working with the another women's group in town to organize an annual fashion show. After a few years the JCs became emeshed in this other group and soon the JCs ended, both the male and female chapters. Sad, I know. However, there is light at the end of this tunnel. This is where we, The League of Extraordinary Women (the new old JCs) come into play. We can bring back this group. We can once again become a group for younger women, focused on other issues and ideas, and when the time comes, age out if necessary. But...we still need you!!! Our hope
We are reminded once again why we decided to create a new women's group in Watauga County. Our hope for this group is that all who decide to join are heard, even though we may not always agree, each member will have opportunities to express their opinions and ideas. We hope that members will be remembered and their names not confused with others. If you are interested in helping to make this group grow and are looking for an opportunity to give back to your community, make new friends, and find an arena to have your ideas heard this is the group for you.
